Originally published in French in 1988, this is the first English translation of one of the strangest and funnest books I’ve read all year. I interviewed Rooney about it back in January. You will yearn for stroll through Central Park with this one, and won’t want it to end. I devoured this book in two days between Christmas and New Year’s, and fell in love with Lillian.
